Guatemala Flag

The Guatemalan Flag is made of two colors designed in three vertical bands. The two colors are light blue and white. The two light blue bands of the flag of Guatemala symbolize the two oceans that touch the lands of Guatemala. The Pacific Ocean is on the west and the Caribbean ocean is on the East. Additionally, white symbolizes peace and purity of the country.

At the center of the Guatemala flag is the coat of arms of Guatemala. The flag of Guatemala coat of arms includes the Resplendent Quetzal, the national bird of the country. This bird represents liberty. There is a scroll has the date of Central America’s independence from Spain on September 15, 1821. The rifles represent Guatemala’s willingness to defend itself. There is also a bay laurel crown that represents victory and swords that symbolize honor.
