Egypt Flag

On October 4, 1984 the Egyptian Flag was adopted as the national flag of Egypt. The Egypt Flag has the Egyptian national emblem, the Eagle of Saladin on the center of the flag. The flag of Egypt has three equal-sized horizontal stripes made of red, white, and black. The Egyptian Flag colors symbolize different elements of Egypt’s history. Red represents the period before the Revolution to over throw King Farouk, the King of Egypt. White represents the 1952 Revolution which ended the monarchy without bloodshed. Black represents the end of the Monarchy and British imperialism. The colors of the flag of Egypt are also on the flags of Yemen, Syria, and Iraq.
